About Alan J. Currall
I’ve worked in the construction and architectural industry since 1993, starting out on-site as an apprentice bricklayer before moving into design and training in AutoCAD.
That early hands-on experience still shapes how I approach every project today. I don’t just design buildings to look good on paper — I design them so they actually work in the real world.
Over the years, I’ve gained experience across a wide range of projects including residential extensions, renovations, new builds, and commercial work within the restaurant and bar sector. I’ve also worked on listed buildings, barn conversions, and developments within estate settings.
In 2013, I set up my own practice to offer a more direct and reliable service to clients. Having worked within larger companies, I saw first-hand how projects could become overcomplicated, inefficient, and disconnected from the client. I wanted to do things differently.

Outside of Work
I’m a family man with a wife and three daughters, and like most people, life outside of work is important to me.
I also have an interest in cars — particularly American V8s — and I tend to take a practical view on most things. I don’t claim to have a favourite building, as there’s always something I’d want to improve.
